POSITION OVERVIEWAs a member of plant extended leadership team, you will support, influence, and lead various plant wide efforts and initiatives.
The HSE (Health, Safety, Environmental) Lead, internally called a HSE Coordinator, acts as a coach and advisor to the site, provides support and technical assistance in the administration of and compliance with federal, state, local, and company HSE requirements.
This individual will also implement standards and procedures that protect human safety and the environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESLeads and supports plant-wide initiatives and efforts for site health, safety, security, and environmentalServes as the Site HSE Pillar Owner; primary point of contact and resource for health, safety & environmental issues at the facilityRepresents the Site during Regional HSE Pillar functionsEnsures the impact of regulatory changes on the businesses are being managedSupport completion and submittal of required Environmental, Health, and Safety reports for the facilityLeads compliance assurance efforts by facilitating frequent HSE self-assessments and tracks corrective action plans to completionProvides leadership, direction, and prioritization for site HSE objectives as part of the master planning processMentors, develops, and builds capability in Site HSE Process OwnersMonitors facility performance against HSE goals and objectives and communicates results to Central Safety Committee.
Supports CSC efforts and serves as back-up committee leadReports company-required HSE metrics at required frequencies in GSTEMSActively participates in change management such as relocation, modification, and decommissioning of any affected facility, equipment or processEnsures site HSE risk analyses are performed and communicated to Plant Manager, Central Safety Committee, and Regional HSE LeaderCollaborates with other Pillars/business functions and participates in special projects as assignedProvides support to the site to address regulatory inspections and complaintsProvides assistance in the investigation of significant incidents (fire, chemical releases, fatalities, severe or multiple injuries, etc.
) and follow-up on corrective actions ensuring information is shared throughout the Company to prevent re-occurrenceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety/Engineering or related degree with applicable experience or relevant extensive work experienceStrong interpersonal, communication and listening skillsAbility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, adversity, and changeAbility to plan, lead, and execute initiatives in a complex environment Sound analytical and business judgement including demonstrated problem solving and trouble shooting skillsProficient in computer software applicationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS5
years relevant extensive work experienceLeadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in occupational safetyStrong coaching, and project management skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsWorking knowledge of local HSE regulationsExperience in food and beverage manufacturing or related fieldADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONSInternational relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.
